Resumption of the Public Celebration of Holy Mass

Dear Parishioners,

Please take note that as Level 3 Lockdown Regulations have been updated as of 02 February 2021, we are in the position whereby we are able to resume the Public Celebration of Holy Mass. We shall therefore resume the Public Celebration of Holy Mass as of this weekend.

Mass times shall therefore be Saturday 06 February 2021 at 17h00 and Sunday 07 February 2021 at 10h00.

It will not be necessary to reserve your attendance in advance, however, as per the new regulations, we are permitted a maximum of fifty (50) Parishioners in attendance at a single Celebration, so attendance will need to be on a “first-come first-served” basis.

The wearing of facemasks while inside the church building remains compulsory, and all COVID-19 precautions will continue to be observed as before, i.e. Temperature Check, Registration, Sanitising, and Social Distancing.

Albeit all Parishioners are welcome to attend Holy Mass again, it is strongly recommended that those Parishioners who fall within a “high risk” category should rather avoid attending Holy Mass at this time, e.g. Parishioners over the age of sixty (60) or Parishioners with existing comorbidities.

It is extremely important, if after having attended a Celebration of Holy Mass, a Parishioner tests positive for COVID-19, that he/she inform the Parish via email as soon as possible, as there are a number of protocols which need to be followed in this instance, e.g. closing the Parish for fourteen (14) days and notifying all others who were present at the same Celebration.

I urge all Parishioners to subscribe to the Parish website in order to receive all updates about the Parish, and I ask that those who are subscribed please share these updates with those who are not.

Please feel free to download below the official letter regarding the Resumption of the Public Celebration of Holy Mass and share it throughout the Parish.

I pray that you and your families will remain safe and healthy during this time.

UPDATE: Attendance at Holy Mass | 28NOV20

Dear Parishioners,

After the National Lockdown Regulations and Archdiocesan Regulations were updated to permit the limited attendance at the Public Celebration of Holy Mass our Parish resumed the Weekend Celebration of Holy Mass on 10 October 2020.

This was achieved through the phased re-opening of the Parish with attendance at Holy Mass divided into four groups rotating on a weekly basis.

After reviewing our Parish’s response to the pandemic I have decided that our Parish is ready to move to the next phase of the resumption of the public celebration of Holy Mass.

What’s changing as of this weekend (28/29 November 2020)?

  1. Attendance at Holy Mass will no longer be as per geographic groupings (Groups 1-4).
Parishioners from all areas of the Parish are welcome to attend any celebration of Holy Mass over the Weekend.
  2. It will no longer be required to “reserve” a place at Holy Mass in advance.
Parishioners are welcome to attend any celebration of Holy Mass without booking in advance.

COVID-19 Preventative Measures:
All Preventative measures will remain in place, i.e. Social Distancing, the distribution of Holy Communion remains on the hand only, masks are to be worn at all times when on church property, and, temperature check & Registration to be completed upon entering the church.

We will continue to limit the number of Parishioners in attendance to 90 Parishioners per celebration of Holy Mass.

Mass Times:
Holy Mass is celebrated 17h00 on a Saturday and 10h00 on a Sunday (all areas/zones are welcome).
Holy Mass times for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be announced within the next 2 weeks.

Reinstitution of Weekend Masses

Dear Parishioners,

We are beginning weekend Masses from the weekend of 03/04 October 2020. Please keep a copy of this information (or download a copy of my Letter below) in order to know when you can come to Mass. There will be one Mass on Saturdays at 17:00 and one Mass on Sundays at 10:00. We are abiding by current Archdiocesan Directives for the celebration of Holy Mass in this time of the Covid-19 Pandemic. This means that we can only operate at 30% of the Church’s capacity, which translates to 90 people per congregation per Mass. We have divided the parish into groupings and Masses will be assigned to various groups on the weekend. Each group has a contact person who you have to contact to reserve your place at the various Masses. The groups, along with their contact person, are as follows:

The Masses for Christmas will be published closer to the time.

Please Note: It is essential for you to book the Mass you will be attending, as we are trying to minimise the need to turn people away. However, if more than 90 people arrive for Mass, we will out of necessity be turning people away to maintain the correct number.

I realise that there will be hiccups in the process of reinstituting Masses, but these should be ironed out as time goes on. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
